Shoulder pain treatment In South West London

Helping you get your shoulder moving freely again and back to the things you love
Shoulder pain has a way of making itself known in the smallest moments: reaching for something overhead, lying on your side at night, putting on a jacket. When even ordinary movements become something to think twice about, it starts to wear you down.
The good news is that most shoulder pain, whatever the cause, responds well to the right assessment and treatment.

We regularly assess and treat conditions including:

  • Rotator Cuff Pain
  • Shoulder Impingement
  • Frozen Shoulder
  • Shoulder Bursitis
  • Shoulder Tendinopathy
  • Shoulder Pain Referred from the Neck

We’ll spend your first session working out exactly what’s limiting your shoulder and why, before building a plan around your specific movement patterns.

Understanding shoulder pain.

The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the body, and that mobility comes at a cost. It relies heavily on the surrounding muscles and tendons for stability, which means several structures can contribute to pain.
Symptoms often develop gradually through repetitive use or a sudden increase in activity, though they can also follow a specific injury. Common contributing factors include:

  • Repetitive overhead movements
  • A sudden increase in training or physical load
  • Poor shoulder blade control
  • Prolonged desk work
  • Previous injury or trauma

Pain often presents during specific movements,  reaching overhead, lifting the arm out to the side, or lying on that shoulder at night and in some cases, symptoms can be referred from the neck rather than originating in the shoulder itself.
A careful assessment helps us identify exactly what’s contributing to your symptoms, and what isn’t.

How we help.

Understand what limiting your shoulder

We assess shoulder movement, strength and coordination alongside the neck and upper back, particularly where symptoms may relate to shoulder pain referred from the neck or issues with shoulder blade mechanics.
You’ll leave your first session knowing exactly what’s limiting your movement and what we’re doing to change that.

Restore pain-free movement

Treatment is tailored to you, reducing irritation and restoring movement through techniques chosen specifically for you based on your assessment. This is often particularly effective in conditions such as rotator cuff tendinopathy, shoulder impingement or bursitis-related pain.
We’re aiming to get your shoulder fully back to the activities you’ve been avoiding, not just quieter at rest.

Rebuild strength and control

Long-term, we focus on rebuilding strength and shoulder blade control through a structured, progressive programme, helping you return to full activity with confidence rather than just avoiding what aggravates it. This is especially important if you’ve experienced recurring shoulder pain with movement or repeated flare-ups.

When should you seek help?

It’s worth having this assessed if:

  • Your pain isn’t settling on its own
  • Lifting or reaching has become painful
  • Sleep is being disrupted
  • Movement feels increasingly restricted
  • Symptoms keep returning

If you’ve experienced a significant trauma to the shoulder, sudden severe weakness or are unable to lift the arm at all, please seek urgent medical assessment.
