South West London Knee Pain Treatment.
Helping you understand what’s going on with your knee and get back to doing what you love
Knee pain can be surprisingly difficult to make sense of. The location shifts, symptoms change with different activities, and it’s not always obvious what’s caused it. What’s clear is the impact on your training, your movement, and your confidence in your body.
We regularly assess and treat conditions including:
- Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome
- Meniscus Injury
- IT Band Syndrome
- Knee Osteoarthritis
- Patellar Tendinopathy
- Ligament Knee Injuries
Your first session focuses on understanding what’s driving your pain, not just where you feel it. Book your appointment online and get a clear picture of what’s going on.
Understanding knee pain.
The knee absorbs significant forces during walking, running and loaded activities, and different patterns of pain often point towards different causes.
- Pain at the front of the knee is often patellofemoral pain syndrome or anterior knee pain
- Pain on the outside is commonly IT band syndrome
- Pain with twisting or pivoting may involve a meniscus injury
- Stiffness that builds over time may relate to knee osteoarthritis
Many patients notice symptoms during specific activities like running, climbing stairs, or squatting and bending. It’s often these movement patterns that give us the clearest diagnostic picture.
Common contributing factors include:
- Sudden increases in training load
- Weakness in the surrounding hip and thigh muscles
- Poor movement mechanics through the lower limb
- Repetitive strain or overuse
- Previous injury
The knee rarely works in isolation. Hip control, ankle mechanics and lower back function all play a role, which is why a whole-body assessment matters.

How we help.
Get a clear picture of what’s going on
We assess the knee within the context of the whole lower limb, including the hip, ankle, and lower back, plus evaluate how your knee responds to movements such as walking, squatting, and climbing stairs. This is particularly important in presentations like knee pain when squatting or running-related pain where load management is key. You’ll come away from your first visit knowing exactly what’s going on in your knee, and what we’re doing to fix it.
Treat what your assessment reveals
Treatment is tailored to you, using hands-on treatment and progressive rehabilitation suited to your specific presentation, whether that’s patellofemoral pain, meniscus irritation, or tendon-related knee pain. We’re aiming to get you back to full training, not just walking without pain.
Rebuild strength through the whole lower limb
This stage is about rebuilding strength, control and movement mechanics through the whole lower limb, structured and progressive, so you return to full activity with genuine confidence, not just less pain. This is especially important if you’ve experienced recurring knee pain after running or persistent activity-related symptoms, such as knee pain when going up stairs.

When should you seek help?
Get this looked at if:
- Your pain isn’t improving on its own
- Walking, running or stairs have become painful
- You’re avoiding activity because of your knee
- Movement feels restricted or unstable
- Symptoms keep returning
If you’ve experienced a significant trauma, sudden severe swelling, or the knee has locked or given way, please seek urgent medical assessment.
