Elbow & Wrist Pain Treatment, Southwest London

Helping you get a grip on what’s causing your pain and get back to full strength
Elbow and wrist pain has a habit of making itself felt in the most routine moments. Lifting a kettle, turning a door handle, typing at a keyboard. For those who play racquet sports or golf, it can sideline activity just as quickly. It’s the kind of pain that’s easy to push through at first but tends to build if left unaddressed.

We regularly assess and treat conditions including:

  • Tennis Elbow
  • Golfer’s Elbow
  • Wrist Pain and Repetitive Strain Injury
  • Elbow Pain When Gripping

We’ll use your first session to work out exactly what’s overloading the tendon and why, so your plan is built around your specific activity and movement demands.

Understanding elbow and wrist pain.

The elbow and wrist are involved in almost every upper-limb movement, so the tendons of the forearm are frequently subjected to repetitive stress, particularly in conditions such as tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow.
Wrist symptoms may arise from repetitive strain or nerve compression, and in some cases symptoms in the forearm can be influenced by irritation in the neck

Common contributing factors include:

Repetitive gripping or racquet sports

  • Gym training or a sudden increase in physical load
  • Prolonged typing or desk work
  • Poor lifting mechanics
  • Previous injury or overuse

A specific movement or task starting to provoke symptoms, gripping, lifting, or long spells at a keyboard is often the first sign that load tolerance has been exceeded, and the earlier this is addressed, the more straightforward recovery tends to be.

How we help.

Identify what’s overloading the tendon

We assess joint movement, grip strength and tendon sensitivity alongside the wider upper limb, particularly where symptoms may relate to repetitive load, nerve irritation, or referred pain from the neck.
You’ll leave your first appointment knowing exactly what’s the cause of the issue and what we’re doing to settle it.

Calm the irritation

Treatment is tailored to you, reducing tendon irritation and improving how the elbow and wrist tolerate load through drawing on a range of techniques selected specifically for your assessment findings.
We’re working towards a grip and forearm that can take load again, not just one that’s stopped complaining.

Rebuild grip strength and load tolerance

Strength and load tolerance are rebuilt gradually and specifically, targeting the forearm and grip so the tendon can handle real-world demands again, particularly in cases of chronic tendon irritation or repeated flare-ups associated with persistent gripping pain.

When should you seek help?

An assessment is worth arranging if:

  • Your pain isn’t settling on its own
  • Gripping or lifting has become painful
  • Tingling or numbness develops in the hand or fingers
  • Strength feels reduced
  • Symptoms keep returning

If you’ve experienced a significant fall or trauma to the elbow or wrist, or are unable to move the joint normally, please seek urgent medical assessment.
